Paddle the Battle
Back for encore tours on September 27!
162 Years Ago, They Burned the Bridge. Now You Can Paddle Through History.
Join us for a unique on-the-water experience as we paddle through the remnants of the Columbia-Wrightsville Bridge—the very one Union forces set ablaze in 1863 to halt the Confederate advance. Along the way, our experienced staff will bring this dramatic Civil War story, the burning, and the communities it impacted.
Perfect for first-time or novice paddlers and history enthusiasts alike, this tour is a one-of-a-kind way to explore our region’s past, right from the water where history was made.
This paddle was made possible by the Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds and Rivers (POWR) Sojourn Grant and the Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC).
