Canoemobile Public Paddle Day
Join SNHA for the Canoemobile!!
No advanced registration necessary, but is first-come, first-served. Free! All participants will be required to sign a waiver.
The Wilderness Inquiry Canoemobile is a roving fleet of 24-foot, 10-passenger Voyageur canoes that travels the country to connect people to their local waterways and the great outdoors.
As part of its national tour of over 17 cities, the Canoemobile will be stopping along the Susquehanna River in Columbia, PA from October 4 – 8 to bring the experience to local 5th graders from surrounding school districts.
On October 8th, join us at Columbia Crossing River Trails Center from 11 AM to 4 PM during the Albatwitch Festival for a free paddle session open to the public where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can paddle in the canoes, learn about canoe and water safety, and discover the Susquehanna from a new perspective. Recommended for ages 8 and up, children under the age of 12 must have an adult with them in the canoe.
Funding support provided by The Chesapeake Bay Gateways and Pennsylvania Water Trails Partnership. The Canoemobile is hosted by Susquehanna National Heritage Area in partnership with The Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail.
