Welcomes David Blackledge, USA Col. (ret.)
Tuesday, May 27th at 7 P.M.
David Blackledge, USA Col. (ret.) will be speaking about his father’s service in the Philippines during World War 2, including his capture at Bataan and experience on a succession of Japanese “Hell ships”.
David’s family moved to the Philippines prior to WW2 and will share about his family’s harrowing rescue from Los Banos Internment Camp near Manila. He retired as the Director of National Security Studies at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle PA. You won’t want to miss his informative story!
The Military Oral History Club of Lancaster County meets at the VFW Post 2435 (401 Manor Street, Columbia PA 17512) on the last Tuesday of the month. All Veterans, students, and anyone with an interest in military history are invited to attend. Veteran of any war, a family member, or friend who would like to share their experiences at any one of our meetings, we would like to hear from you!
